A couple of weeks ago, Carter and I took a Friday and Saturday (and as it turns out, part of Sunday) and went to Normandy. On Friday we joined a randonnée (hike) with a group of parents from his school, and first visited Lisieux, then on to Deauville-sur-Mer for a hike on the bluffs by the English Channel. Then he & I stayed, partly just to hang out, and partly to have part one of "the talk". Yikes! But it went really easily, as it turns out. Much easier than catching our train Saturday night. I misread the train schedule and we missed the last train out, so we stayed an extra night and returned midday Sunday. Here's the proof.
