Rugrats

As if watching 30 big nasties try to kill each other in prime time isn't enough, Sunday I got to watch 20 little monkeys try to learn the same skills. Carter's friend André had his birthday party at Parc de Saint-Cloud, across the Seine from the western edge of Paris. We took the metro to the end of the line (see photo), then walked across the bridge and UP the hill through the park. It was a lovely fall day, thankfully! The bday boy plays for the Stade Français rugby club (mini division), so his mom had gotten one of the older players to come teach the kids the rules and supervise the chaos. Holy cow, did these kids beat the crap out of each other for 2.5 hours! Nothing broken, but I have no idea why not. Then at the end the kids played the parents! (Sorry, no pics, I was playing!)

The highlight had to be the kids' version of the New Zealand All Blacks pregame ritual haka dance. Compare and contrast:

So is Carter going to sign up for a rugby team or did he get his fill at the bday party? Rugby players are crazy I knew a couple here at Auburn they were nuts good guys but nuts. In a good way of course;)
