We are still here

I'm sorry that I haven't updated for a while - the only reason is life's usual business. Well, I was sick last week, and we had three Thanksgiving dinners during the week. You know, that's an embarrassment of riches we never faced at home, when typically we just had one Thanksgiving dinner, on Thanksgiving Day, just like everyone else. But here we feasted the Sunday before turkey day with our friends Joel & Pam & Jakob from upstairs, then Thursday with Michael & Monica & Tuli & Coli, then Saturday with David & Karen & Logan & Jake. Lots of turkey, lots of fun.

We have a few things going on, of course, but won't bore you with those. Betsy leaves tomorrow for Copenhagen for a girls weekend with Jenny, so I should have some evenings cooped up to post some more. Our main Christmas present to ourselves is that we'll be heading to Florence between Christmas and New Year's Eve - actually, we'll be on the overnight train there Christmas night, and on the way back New Year's Eve - so if any of you have visit recommendations there please let me know. I started a google map with some sights noted, and I think you can add to it. I think.

Sick. That's what you and Betsy make me. What a charmed life! Girls weekend in Copenhagen and Firenze for Christmas. It's vile to read that while I sit trapped here in Charlotte wishing I'd remember to buy a Lotto ticket. Anyway, I suppose that's enough ranting. It's a little further north and on the coast, but Cinque Terre is where you want to go. Heavenly, peaceful place! You can take the train to Pisa - see that! and then onto La Spezia. Change trains there to get to C.T. You can hike between the five fishing villages. Pick up a real estate brochure for me while you're there.
