dear friends and family
we are having a great time in paris. we are looking forward to coming back and visiting you all this summer. we hope that we will be able to see all of you, but if we don't we will call you or send you an email.in the past three weeks it has been very exciting for me and calvin because we had kid or age staying with us.while they were staying with us we went to normandy and saw the d-day beaches.it was especially fun seeing the german bunkers. i even got to stand on top of some of them and once, i stood inside the giant gun sticking out of one of the bunkers. in one of them i stepped into a foot-deep puddle of water and got my leg soaked! i am really looking forward to going to istanbul in turkey. i have heard that it is where asia and europe get the closest together (besides where they touch in russia) and in istanbul, there is the second-oldest subway line in the world. i am looking forward to seeing you this summer and going to lakeside with some of you and seeing others all over the united states.

Carter, my young man. What a great long post from youl.!!!! I can't wait to see you at Lakeside. If you go to Houston, maybe I will drive over there to see you again. I am so sorry that we can't be in Istanbul at the same time. That would have been about as cool as going to San Malo, Mt St Michael, and the Loire Valley together. Oh, well. See you in July.
Love, Nan
