Update

Monday, Betsy left for Paris, arriving early Tuesday (US time). She definitely misses being here, but we hope she'll enjoy being single in Paris for a couple of weeks. The vonage phone (703.908.0796) once again will ring her in Paris, so if you want to reach me here in the US use the cell phone (see below). Yesterday (Tuesday), the boys and I went to the pool with Karyn & Maya, then rested from the near-100 heat before going to the National Night Out on our friends the Collinsons' street in Arlington. We ate ice cream, met police dogs and firetrucks, and played games. Marilyn came and took Carter back to Balto, so Calvin and I had a day together today. We started with the pool - it was 102 degrees here today - and followed up with Ratatouille the movie before visiting Jeff & Macy for pinball and guitar hero. Tonight we had dinner at the Millers again, this time celebrating Lynne's 18th birthday. Marilyn took Calvin to Balto tonight, so tomorrow Carter and I will bum around before meeting 45,000 others for a big tailgate party and the DC United vs LA Galaxy (sans Beckham) match tomorrow night.

We have about ten days left on our visit, and have seen lots of friends and family, and made plans for the coming days with several others. We know Betsy wanted to see even more of you while she was here, and we do as well.
