Carter and I completed our seven-hour, five-train journey (and that was JUST the today part!) and are beat. Betsy and Calvin reportedly had a nice time together, and Carter and I definitely had a blast ... except for the performance of our team, and that's all we'll say about that. More details and pictures in the days to come.

carter - you are right that i love cathedrals. it was a wonderful treat to get a birthday greeting from you at the cathedral in cologne! isn't it grand and wonderful? when i am feeling better and come again to paris, will you take me to see some of our favorite churches and cathedrals again? i love you and miss you so. hugs and kisses to you and my other very favorite grandson. grandmere
