Holiday wishes from our 2006 photo album

I realized I could capture the little message I wrote for our 2006 photo book, so here it is.




Forinash Family in Paris 2006

In late 2005, we decided to start a big adventure and move to Paris. The first part of 2006 was full of planning for our move, and saying many goodbyes (for a while) to beloved family and friends and places. We moved in late February, with Betsy starting her new job and Carter and Calvin starting at their new schools in early March. We were happy to have Nannan Glennell help us in Washington and Paris, and then to welcome Grandma Marilyn in April, during the boys' spring break. In May and June, all three boys were in school, hard at work on French while Betsy was hard at work for the OECD. Betsy also returned to Washington to help Marilyn, as she started her battle with breast cancer. July brought the boys' summer vacation, and a visit from Nannan and Don that included a family week in the Loire Valley visiting chateaus. We had several other visitors over the summer, and were happy to share our new home, city, and culture. School started again in September, with Carter in second grade at his bilingual school, and Calvin in French preschool. The autumn has brought trips to Japan (for Betsy), Germany, and a lovely Toussaint vacation week on France's south Atlantic coast. November and the first part of December have now raced by, with Chris and Betsy visiting Washington (separately!), Nannan spending two weeks with us, and soon Cathy, Roberto, and new cousin Victor coming for Christmas and New Years. We'd also like to welcome our new cousins Ashley, who just turned one, and William, who's coming up on nine months. We look forward to seeing all of you, here or stateside, in 2007!
